Virgin Media

Virgin Media, like many other companies in this country, has shown us that they couldn't care less about their customers. Here is our story and please feel free to share yours.

So *sigh*, we ordered Virgin TV, broadband and phone as soon we moved into our new flat, which was about 2.5 months ago. The sales rep came to our flat and happily took our card details. He assured us everything would be installed within two weeks. 2.5 weeks later, two guys show up at the very end of the 6hr time slot (of course). They quickly rush and set up the internet and TV. I can tell that they just want to go home. One of them says to me, 'we can't set up your phone because it's not in our system'. Ya, whatever that means. He leaves me with the number to their supervisor, which is of course a costly mobile number. After they left, we discover that the internet has not been set up properly. The number to call when you have problems costs a fortune, but it is the only option. So, we end up spending £21 just to get our internet set up properly. We were only reimbursed £4! For days and days, we try calling their supervisor to get our phone installed. He never picks up, so we leave countless voicemails. Sometimes we would call, then call again and he had switched his phone off! We were forced to call the expensive Virgin 'customer service' line again. They didn't apologise but did set up a new time for installation, two weeks later. That time came and went...they never showed up. When we called to complain, they told us that someone would call us back within two days and set up a new time. SO ridiculous when it was their fault!! They should be on our doorstep that day. After countless telephone calls, someone finally shows up and it doesn't even take him 5 minutes to set it up. Now here's the happy ending to this story. We have been receiving 2 bills! They 'accidentally' set up two accounts. Arrrggghhhh.....Let's hope for the best with this new problem they've created.
Oh, total phone costs for calling to fix THEIR problem: £47 (yup.)
Why on earth isn't the number free????? It would be in Canada I can tell you.
Moral of the story: Don't get Virgin!!!!!! It's way more trouble than it's worth.
